Ways Out Hong Kong is a women-led B Corp certified social enterprise that upcycles household food waste into jewelry and uses it as a creative nudge to push forward sustainability education and to empower young underprivileged women by providing them with flexible work and training.
Hong Kong disposes over 3,302 tons of food waste every day, which is the equivalent weight of 230 double-decker buses and only 4% is recycled. Meanwhile, young underprivileged mothers in HK are marginalized with limited resources where 1/5 women are living in poverty with less than HKD10K per month.
Since 2021, we have created impact across three core pillars: circular economy, female empowerment, and sustainability education—making sustainability not just a promise, but a practice. We've partnered with over 300 organizations—including Corporates, NGOs, Schools, and Media—motivating over 11,500+ individual actions toward environmental sustainability and providing 7,500+ hours of training and work to 40 young underprivileged women.
